Get Your Feet Wet
Writing words about life at the waters edge.
Where sometimes getting in the water isn’t as easy as you think it’s going to be.
But you got up early, you drove here, your friend drove even further. So, yes, you are going in that water.
There are times when you stand at that waters edge and question.
Your choices, your timing, your sanity.
Especially on a day after a snow storm during an extreme high tide, when the water is almost meeting the street. This is a day when no hat could or should be worn. The ocean will do its best to take it from you. The ocean will also likely slap you in the face at some point. But it won’t hurt as much as the bad news you just got about a high school friend, so you put the rest aside and head in. And laugh. And let that salt water do its job.
Sometimes its job is to simply help you forgot about some things for just a little while.
